ATO National Deployment and Implementation Study
Network Rail has engaged with a number of suppliers to carry out a study into the technical readiness of Automatic Train Operation/European Train Control System (ATO/ETCS) and to develop a set of standards for its deployment. The study aims to use operational sub systems in a simulated environment for automatic train operation using ETCS to provide Automatic Train Protection (ATP).
Zircon’s client is one of the chosen participants in the study and Zircon is assisting them develop software to enable the integration of their ATO and ETCS products. Zircon was chosen as a partner due to our ability to respond to the tight timescales of the project and our familiarity with rail control systems.
