Zircon has a long standing involvement supporting our client in the installation and upgrade of the signalling system for a German Railway line.  As part of further upgrades, to improve the speed and efficiency of trains on the line, a number of level crossings need to be upgraded to provide better protection to road users and pedestrians.

The changes to the level crossings will result in changes to the underlying data that drives the whole signalling system.  Zircon recently completed a similar project to update and test changes to this data.  Once again, Zircon has been asked to make the data changes and carry out the required EN 501208 SIL2 verification and validation exercise as a result of the level crossing updates.
